Annual Conference reveals changes for sponsors and news of a new director appointment.
Following last weekend's conference of the Southern League there are a number of significant chances for the forthcoming season. With the three year agreement with British Gas Business ending a new sponsor for the league was sought. The League is to be renamed the Zamaretto League following a deal with the amaretto's owner InterContinental Brands. League Chairman Ken Turner said: "Partnerships like these are great news for the profile and future of the semi professional game. "We are already finding that we have quite a lot in common with ICB in that we are both enterprising, positive, forward looking organisations and are greatly looking forward to working together in the coming seasons." Harrogate-based ICB also supplies Vodkat and St Helier pear cider. Zamaretto is already the sponsor of the ITV comedy drama series Benidorm. The League Cup also has a new sponsor and for the 2009/10 season will be known as The Red Insure Cup. Red Insure Limited become the League's preferred Insurance Broker for member clubs. Our congratulations go to Rover's Chairman, Dave Bissex, who was elected to the Southern League Board of Directors. The constituition for next season was confirmed as: - Division One South & West AFC Hayes AFC Totton Abingdon United Andover Bedfont Green Bishops Cleeve Bracknell Town Bridgwater Town Cinderford Town Cirencester Town Frome Town Gosport Borough Hungerford Town Mangotsfield United North Leigh Paulton Rovers Taunton Town Thatcham Town Uxbridge VTFC Windsor & Eton Yate Town |
